9th International Workshop on PervasivE Learning
(PerEL 2017)

March 2017 in Göttingen, Germany

in conjunction with the International Conference on Networked Systems (NetSys'17)

PerEL 2017 is part of a workshops series on computational support for learning, teaching and working.

Pervasive learning is a key technology for tomorrow’s e-knowledge society. Here, content, context, and community as well as an adequate technical basement are equally important aspects for the realization of a global campus. This affects not only well-studied settings in higher education, but all settings of life-long learning, where highly mobile, context-aware, and pro-active services provide significant benefit to the users - in terms of simplicity, comfort, transparency, and finally quality of education.

PerEL 2017 will address technologies, algorithms, tools, architectures, and applications as well as pedagogical grounding of pervasive learning. After all, it aims at an examination of future visions in that area. It will present original papers to demonstrate new results of research and development in the field of pervasive learning. We are looking for results of theoretical, empirical, and practical studies. Topics of interest are all aspects of pervasive learning as mentioned above. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • mobile ad-hoc communication in educational settings
  • service and session mobility, device independency
  • context-aware, pro-active learning systems
  • techniques for seamless, cooperative learning or working
  • document, knowledge, and service management
  • tools and architectures for pervasive learning
  • adaptive, just in time learning systems
  • process, context, and data models for eLearning scenarios
  • tangible and natural-language user interfaces for learning
  • virtual and augmented reality in education
  • pervasive games for learning
  • realization of pervasive learning scenarios
  • best practice studies and experiences

We kindly invite authors to submit full papers on original and unpublished work. Papers must be written in English and should not exceed 6 pages in IEEE proceedings style. Please anonymize the names of authors, institutions or projects that might reveal your identity. Submission implies the willingness of at least one author to fully register and present the paper.
