Chair
Sukanya Bhowmik, Professor
Sukanya Bhowmik received her Master of Science degree in Information Technology
at the University of Stuttgart, Germany in 2013. She went on to pursue her
doctoral studies at the Institute of Parallel and Distributed Systems of
University of Stuttgart and received her doctoral degree in 2017. The title of
her doctoral dissertation is ‘Content-Based Routing in Software-Defined
Networks’. On completion of her Ph.D., she continued as a postdoctoral
researcher in the Distributed Systems Department and lead the Adaptive
Communication Systems research group.
Since 2023, she is a professor at the Institute of Computer Science at the
University of Potsdam, heading the Chair of Middleware, Operating Systems, and
Computer Networks.
Academic staff
Max Engelhardt
Max Engelhardt received his Master of Education degree at the University of
Potsdam, Germany in 2023. At the end of 2023 he started teaching the
fundamentals of programming, operating systems and computer networks at the
University of Potsdam. In early 2024, he began his doctoral studies at the
Institute of Middleware, Operating Systems, and Computer Networks at the
University of Potsdam under the supervision of Prof. Bhowmik.
Philipp Ungrund
Philipp Ungrund studied Industrial Engineering & Management at the University of
Twente, which he finished with a Bachelor of Science in 2021. After that he
pursued a Master‘s degree in Computational Science at the University of Potsdam
with a thesis on intrusion prevention in high-performance computer networks at
the chair of Operating Systems and Distributed Systems. In September 2024 he
started as a research fellow at the chair of Middleware, Operating Systems, and
Computer Networks.
Student staff
Olaf Link
Olaf Link has been a bachelor student of Computer Science at the University of
Potsdam since 2022. In 2024, he was invited by Prof. Bhowmik to join her team
as a research assistant, where he is currently developing a test environment
for distributed algorithms in Complex Event Processing applications.
Technical staff
Klemens Kittan
Klemens Kittan trained as an IT specialist in system integration and has been
working at the Institute of Informatics and Computational Science since 2002.
Office
Alexandra Roy
Alexandra Roy completed her vocational training as an office administrator at
the University of Potsdam and was subsequently employed at the Institute of
Geosciences. She has been working at the Institute of Informatics and
Computational Science since 2009.
